Missing /dev/IPL_rootvg file!
What creates the /dev/IPL_rootvg file? I am missing one on an AIX - 5.3.3 7026-H70 system. How can I recreate this file? Thanks -

Fixed it - thanks all - # mklv -y hd5 -t boot -a e rootvg 1 hdisk1 # bosboot -a # bootlist -m normal -o hdisk1 Thanks to all! I will have to be much more careful next time. Off to mirror the disks! -

I have a 5.3.3 NIM master and I had to fix a crashed 570 partition with 5.1 recently - I actually rebuilt an lpp_source and spot from the 5.1 cds - updated it to ML5 then rebuilt the server using the mksysb. I did this with the help of the IBM helpdesk. So I know it can be done. Lou -
