As I suspected, it's an issue with the firewall. have turned off the windows firewall, but forgot about virus scanner.
every other PC in the office is OK. and it's mine that doesn't work.
thanks for the answers.
Using phone manager, I get this error in the system monitor log
TFTP Write:: Too many retries
Any idea how I fix this, so that I can use phone manager?
Correct. H323 trunks have been crippled in 4.0
What version were you using previously, as I can't get dialling to work on 3.1.65 or 3.2. And now H323 is completely broken with 4.0
There's mention in the helpfile (firewall), that H323 isn't an option you can configure.
I can ping the IPO, but...
I had a play with 4.0. H323 trunks stop working with 4.0. Not sure if this is by deisgn, but there's a note int he help file about dropping all H323 traffic.
A few questions about 4.0 and using SIP. I have a 406V2. It has 64MB, so I can upgrade it (not tried yet).
Anyone know what it costs for SIP Trunk licenses? Preferably UK pricing. Anyone know what's the procedure for getting a trial license, and how long they last for?

I had (have) a similar problem. Slightly different setup, as I'm using an IP trunk.
I don't use any CID override. When I make calls over the IP trunk, sometimes the CID is the extension number, and sometimes it's the correct CID. There seems to be no reason why/how it decides what the CID will...
I am using a delay of 3 seconds and a count of 3. If I don't use the ; it just sends 3 of the idalled digits to the IP trunk. So the result is a wrong number.
I'm using 3 digit extensions, so I've set the count to 3. Are you saying that it will work with a count of 0 ? I'll try it and see what...
Just dial the number. No secondary tone. I also have [9]0N; in case someone is used to dialling a 9 first. Both have the same result, and need # to complete the call.
There must be something else that's different. Perhaps I'm not understanding how it decides on a call route.
I'm using a 406 V2. Has been working reasonably well with 3.0, and 3.1 (48), but 3.2 doesn't.
I have 4 channels of ISDN, and 5 channels of IP trunks (H323). I am using a shortcode of [0]N; The ";" is needed, so that the full number is sent to the IP trunk (or another IPO using SCN). This works...
Out of interest, what are you using the IP trunk for? SCN to another IPO? or something else.
I have a 406 V2. I have 4 channels of ISDN, plus an IP trunk. The IP trunk uses H323. It works on the 406, using LAN1. I setup an IP route, which specifies the gateway IP of the DSL that it's using. The...
If SIP trunks are going to be licensed, then I presume that using H323 trunks is unsupported by Avaya. I wonder if H323 trunks will also become license-required in V4.
The old tech bulletin is http://support.avaya.com/elmodocs2/ip_office/R3.2/IPOffice3_2GA_Tech_Bulletin.pdf
Not much of a clue to what the new one will be :(
thanks for the info
currently using H323 trunks(lines). not bad, but far from ideal. seems to have been implemented for avaya-only stuff though. "foreign" H323 is I presume, unsupported. fingers crossed, SIP should be better when their code is eventually debugged.
Sorry, a bit quick off the mark and didn't search.
SIP will be suported in 4.0, or so it seems. Not sure when 4.0 is due, but I can imagine the first release is best to avoid using.
Does anyone know if they plan to support SIP lines as well as SIP handsets? Do we have to license it, or will it...
Seems crazy that a system sold as "digital", "IP", "VOIP", etc, doesn't actually support SIP. And as far as I can see, there's not even any consideration for supporting SIP.
Anyone know if Avaya will ever support SIP?
Maybe as SIP is open, they fear people using cheaper handsets.
It seems...
Any new user software?
Current 3.2 phone manager doesn't work well with analogue phones. Sometimes it takes the phone off-hook, and sometimes it doesn't. It's repeatable too, so I'm certain it's a bug, but Avaya won't talk to me :(
Phone manager says "forwarding to external numbers is...
