Using phone manager, I get this error in the system monitor log

TFTP Write:: Too many retries

Any idea how I fix this, so that I can use phone manager?

Why do you believe that a tftp error in sysmon is causing your pm not to work?

the error message includes the IP address of the PC trying to use phone manager. it also happens at the same time that you try to browse for the IPO

Do you have the windows firewall turned on ?
Virus scanner with firewall ?
Is it a Dell machine ?

DELL laptop. firewall is on, but I have run the BAT file.

In the login screen enter the IP address of the IPO. Default it's set to 192.168.42.1 most times this has been changed. So find out what ip address is of the IPO.

During initialisation Phone Manager does a number of tftp requests to the IP Office in order to get the internal users list, phone book, busy extensions etcetera.
The problem is that during one of the requests PhoneManager sends a "get" to the IPO tftp were it asks for specific info, ipo sends a message telling pm that the requested data is ready for download. PM does not start the download so ipo sends another message, if pm does not start downloading in a timely manner then you get that message in monitor.
It is related to either a very busy process on your pc or the network card is overloaded or you have a active virus scanner blocking the messages.
Create a new user account without any autorun applications and see if you get the same error then.

As I suspected, it's an issue with the firewall. have turned off the windows firewall, but forgot about virus scanner.

every other PC in the office is OK. and it's mine that doesn't work.

thanks for the answers.

I have had terrible issues with phonemanager and DELL
Very often is does not even install correctly and can not be removed after
Dell does a nasty pre install and i recommend you to reinstall it with a clean OS and then try again

I know that is the easy way :)

I have a DELL D820 and no problems at "all"(for AVAYA aplications then).
