We have an Exchange 2003 Server. Monday I created a new user in AD. I used the standard wizard to allow it to create an Exchange email. This new email address cannot recieve mail from outside the Domain. I checked the user settings with a user who can receive email normally, and everything...
I have a Windows 2003 Server with 4, 36GB SCSI Drives. It is partitioned into two logical drives. Both drives are filling up. The second, the drive we use for data, is filling up weekly. I move SQL backup and TRN files to another server to keep it up and running. I would like to increase...
I have a Windows 2003 Server. We had access to the server through a PPTP VPN connection. Yesterday, it just stopped working. We get an error 649 when trying to connect. Nothing has been changed in the network. My Domain Admin account can't connect either.
Anyone out there want to give me...
Here is what is now happening. On the client computers, the IP Address and subnet mask ARE being generated. But the Gateway is blank. I obviously have something wrong in either the DHCP or DNS server.
I've looked through each, and can't find any settings that pertain to the Gateway. Any...
Yes. The Netgear does have the capability to provide DHCP services. I have it presently disabled. Still can't get the Windows 2008 server DHCP addresses to be issued. It doesn't make sense. Static IP addresses are working fine right now, so we are not in a critical situation. But I...
All of the "client" PCs are on the same phyical network. The Netgear router is plugged into one 16 port switch, and all of the computers are then plugged into that same switch, including the Server. We have a very simple network structure.
I just double checked, the Server is authenticated...
I'm pretty sure I have. From Administrative Tools, I went to DHCP and clicked on the server. At that point I click on Actions and the option I get is "unauthorize," so I am assuming that it is authorized.
I have a new Windows 2008 Server. I have DNS and DHCP servers up and running, but the DHCP server seems to not be issuing IP addresses. The DHCP server, and service are running. It has also been Authenticated.
If we set static IP addresses on our clients, they perform properly. There is...
Yes. The gateway in the printer is correct. I just tried to connect to it from a client computer with a standard TCPIP connection. No luck their either. I'm beginning to think the printer driver is the problem. Even though it was printing before. The person who set it up before the Domain...
I have a Windows 2008 server. I also have a Canon MX-700 Printer/Fax. I want to share this printer from the server.
I have a static IP address of 192.168.5.246 on the printer. I can ping the printer from the server. When I try to install the printer to the server using a TCPIP connection...
I've got it solved. I had to use the NET USER /passwordreq:yes command to require a password for the local Administrator account.
Once I did this, the password I used was more than sufficient to be accepted by active directory.
I then used the dcpromo.exe command and created a new domain in...
The username is "Administrator".
The password has nothing to do with administrator.
The final two numbers ARE the same number though.
Could that be it?
My default password is something like:
1st--Capital letter
2nd thru 4th -- small letters
5th -- "@" sign
6th -- small letter
7th & 8th -- numbers
I doubled it and still get the same message.
Thanks. I didn't view the videos because it requires a subscription. But what I am now encountering is a dialog box informing me that the Administrator account will become the Domain Administrator account, and that my password doesn't meet the requirements.
Originally, my password was 8...
I have a new server from Dell. I started to set it up right out of the box. This is the first time I have setup a 2008 server. I obviously did something incorrect.
When I try to open the Active Directory, I get the following message: Naming information cannot be loaded because: The...
Removed the keyboard.
Unplugged and re-seated the connector that goes into the Mainboard. Double-checked the grounding screw for tightness. Pulled the wire that connects the LCD to the mainboard and just let it hang there instead of snaking it through the case.
Still no display.
I'm...
Thanks guys. I disconnected the power and took out the battery before I started any of this. I also grounded myself against our stove before starting. I swapped both the LCD and keyboard at the same time.
AH!
I put the donor machine back together with the LCD and the keyboard from the...
