    Formatting the decimals

    Are you kidding?

    Formatting the decimals

What product? If Report Studio, set number of decimals in the Data Format property of the column.

    Unique Move in Transformer

Move" tells Transformer to include a category under the latest-encountered parent in the event of a uniqueness violation rather than generating an exception. A classic example would be a salesperson who has moved from one region to another...if Transformer encounters sales data for that...

    zooming in cognos (drilltrue?)

Huh? Not sure what you're asking...the image goes in your list instead of the doc ID and repeats with each row, the drillthrough is still passing doc ID (doc ID stays in the query) for the row. Without doc ID in the list, and with an identical image in every row, I don't know how the user will...

    zooming in cognos (drilltrue?)

Yes, just insert an Image in your list, you can set up drillthrough on pretty much anything I think as all of your source data items are available when defining the "linkage" to the target report.

Cognos Report ageinst two Cognos cubes

My understanding is that in C8 you are able to model cube datasources in FM in such a way as to allow reporting off both cubes in the Studios (can't tell you how though). You can not report off multiple cubes concurrently with PowerPlay/PPES alone.

    zooming in cognos (drilltrue?)

There are 2 drilling concepts, drill-down and drill-through. Ties' description of "starting a second report that includes all the details" is drill-through and is one way of doing what you describe (showing more details for an order). In your example, you would set up drillthrough in your...

Report Studio Best Practice / Best Way Question

I agree with Ties that Adam Ant is being unreasonable. While using your db's dummy table to generate static choices would technically involve "hitting" the db I can't see the issue there - aren't you hitting it for the report data anyway? Making this available/reusable in other reports...

    Date display?

What product???? When you say date "would vary depending on what is selected on the prompt page" do you mean it's a parameter? If Report Studio, if parameter: put the parameter in a data item, put the data item on your report, use Data Format properties to format it the way you want. The fact...

    Cognos

Same way as text, drag image from the toolbox onto the button. Disregard my "start a new thread" comment on your other post, that was before I saw this one...but since I am a chronic critic, how about a more meaningful subject next time?

Same way as text, drag image from the toolbox onto the button. BTW you should start a new thread when changing subjects.

    Separate page for each Report

You're pretty unlikely to get a helpful response by burying your question in an old thread on a completely different subject. See what I mean? This response was no help at all!

Show a full page on screen - Report Sudio

Try setting Rows Per Page, a List property I think.

    Report Studio - Properties Question

See this post: http://tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1467390&page=1 But be very careful, recursion can be dangerous to the uninitiated...

    Excel formatting

I looked into this at one point and there is no way to control that from ReportNet (boy, I'm really turning out to be Mr. Bad News in this thread!). Even in Excel it's on a document by document basis, i.e. you can't set it as a default (at least not in 2003). The best you might be able to do is...

    Excel formatting

Joe- I thought there was no formatting at all, just a dump of query items without regard to the report content, but I may be confusing it with .csv output. In any case, Cognos did not do as good a job in preserving formatting with Impromptu's Excel output as they do in their newer products...

    Filters

One more afterthought... You said you have 4 combinations like this. It may get a little tough to read the filter; per your "separate query" comment you could do each of the 4 combinations separately with their respective filters and then UNION the results. In ReportNet this would be a single...

    Filters

You can't filter a data item differently than the rest of your query, but there's nothing stopping you from creating complex multi-data-item filters. Per your example: ( [cost center] between 5000 and 5500 and [account] between 59000 and 59500) or ([cost center] not between 5000 and 5500)...

    Separate page for each Report

Sorry if I confused you by mentioning layout references, note that I was referring to other formatting objects on the page and not the crosstab itself. Unfortunately Page Sets are beyond me as I'm still on ReportNet. I assume you do still need to have a query associated with the page if you are...
  20. almeids

    Separate page for each Report

Agreed, another page would be the most straightforward way to do this. Add a new Report Page in Page Explorer and move your second crosstab there. You can use a Layout Component Reference (at least in ReportNet you can) to duplicate other page objects like headers and footers if you give them...
