Date display?

If the date related to our data is shown as 2008-Apr for example, is there a way to make that display as Apr 30, 2008? The date would vary depending on what is selected on the prompt page. I have been able to get it to show Apr 2008, but can't figure out how to get the day to show up.

When you say date "would vary depending on what is selected on the prompt page" do you mean it's a parameter?

If Report Studio, if parameter: put the parameter in a data item, put the data item on your report, use Data Format properties to format it the way you want. The fact that you've been able to change the format somewhat makes me think either you've gotten that far already or I'm making the wrong assumptions about the situation...but if you've gotten that far maybe all you're missing is setting "Display Days" to "yes"?

It's Cognos 8. Yes, it's a parameter within Report Studio. I've been using a layout calculation to get the date as far as I have, I'll give it a try using a data item. We've been having trouble getting any dates to show up properly.
