We have a Polycom Soundstation connected to an analog port on an IPO 500 Release 8 (new system) and we are trying to figure out how to create a conference call from this analog extension.
Interesting. If just seems to me that the switch might not be designed to ring an old type bell with a coil that is sitting about 350' away. Very flakey when some ports will work the distance and others won't.
The problem was very weird. Some of the analog ports are sending enough juice to ring the old type bells in wall 2500 sets. Others are not. Whe we tested the ring voltage at the far end (about 350') in some cases, the voltage was about 40. And it also rang the electronic ringer in the techs...
Looking for information on the idle voltage and ringer voltage on an IPO 500 analog port. We have a large retail environment and some of the analog phones at the far end are not ringing.
The PC specs in the Avaya spec sheet don't mention Windows 7 at all. Has anyone had experience with this. Really don't want to look for a PC with an older operating system on it:
• Ethernet-attached PC running Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3, Windows Vista Ultimate SP1, Microsoft...
I assume you mean DID? And if so, could anybody dial that DID and access the greetings for a change? That would be dangerous if we couldn't password protect them.
I have been hearing that base units shipped with V8 will have a hard drive negating the need for a PC when using the Prefered Version voice mail. Anyone?
That is surprising. We come from the Nortel world and that was a basic function of unified messaging on the BCM product. I figured the new IP Office would do at least as much as the product Avaya is phasing out.
Thanks for the quick response. I have had 5 different responses to this question today and I like yours the best. Another, the customer would like to also use set up DIDs on his PRI for fax to his desk top. I assume I will need Unified Messaging sofware to do this? Do I need to go to VM Pro...
My understanding is that you can set up the imbedded voice mail system in IPO 500 8.0 to send an email notification of a voice mail message and in that email there is an attached wave file containing the voice mail message. My question: is a license required for this.
