I had a similar problem. I changed the Unique Values flag in query properties to No, and that fixed everything. It doesn't make any sense to me, but it fixed it.

So, back to the Jan 17 thread.. What did you do to get rid of the Run-time error 2001?

We got it to work by moving all of the dlls from the Crystal directory into the System32 directory on the server. We weren't sure which ones we needed, so we moved them all, and it works now.
