Assign value of tommorows date to a variable and make that
variable as part of your file name
eg.
tommorow=`TZ=PST-24 date +%d%m%Y`

I think you do not need to put any script in rc directory.
Just do following steps.
#ifconfig hme0:1 plumb
#ifconfig hme0:1 inet new_ip_address netmask value_of_net_mask up
make entry of this ip address in /etc/hosts file with appropriate hostname
eg.
1.1.1.1 mynewhost
create a file...

Contents of /etc/issue file are displayed before login.
if you remove this file it won't display OS information
before login prompt.

The workout I did after installating Solaris 8 was:
1. /etc/init.d/sendmail stop
2. Copied /etc/mail/sendmail.cf as /etc/mail/sendmail.cf.orig
3. Copied /etc/mail/main.cf as /etc/mail/sendmail.cf
4. Created entry of mailhost in /etc/hosts file
Eg. 1.1.1.1 hostname mailhost...
