This is what led to my urlmon.dll corruption. When my machine is on, no matter what I move/wiggle in the back of the machine: monitor connection, speaker connection, wi-fi card antenna, the machine powers off. I figure maybe a screw or something on or under the mb. Any suggestions.
Tony, the in-place install worked like a charm....only took a few minutes; no other dlls were corrupt. I was so happy. If I had known about that I would have done it a long time ago anyway. Thanks again.
Thanks for responding Rob. I was able to get to command prompt but I cannot get into safe mode. That did not work. Last known config did not work. Recover option off XP CD did nothing. Anything else, other than reinstalling OS?
fumei I understand my contribution to the confusion. I assumed that my first post was very clear, but I guess I was mostly considering my understanding of it. I work in IT dept and get requests to strip Word files of metadata so that when the file is sent to a client there is no way for the...
Come on dude, that goes without saying. Of course, all documents are not that simple. But one would not do that with a 50-page formatted document. Thanks anyway.
Yeah I'll explain further. If you know what metadata is, and why one would want it removed and if you read the string it is quite clear what I am asking.
xlhelp, thanks. but what i tried first is holding shift while opening. No error then. Then I closed word and opened again.....and the error seems to be gone.
fumei, while i realize that nothing is "permanent" whether I apply a temp fix or not is irrelevant. Um...if you look at the fullness of the first thread above, you might find a problem on your end as to the truncation you refer to.
My head should have stopped hurting by now.
I am on a networked computer and this error comes and goes sometimes when I open or print from Word. Any ideas for a permanent fix?

This is not specific to Exchange Server, what are the specifics you can find out about a sender if they sent you a sneaky or threatening email? In other words, besides just having their email address, what, if anything, else can be found out?
