    cd-rom can't read media

    First make sure the all cables are securely attached to your CDROM drive. If so and it's an older drive (more than 24 months) cleaning and tweaking is only putting off the obvious. It needs to be replaced. The liklihood is you will do more damage probing around in the drive trying to clean...

    How to burn a cd from cd-image?

    Much easier to extract the file with WinImage to a directory then burn the folder(s). Most current burn apps will handle ISO Mode 1 and burn the image directly to a CDR. I personally use Nero Burning and chose from File on toolbar. HTH Skeeter72

    Adaptec Easy CD Creator did not recognize burner ???

    It may well be your ASPI layer has been corrupted. You can d/l the latest checker/installer form Roxio. Doubt it's the DSL config. Have you recently switched media brands (CDR)? Some generic brands are not really stable. Hope that helps. Skeeter72

    Broadband router differences?

    Cable Modem soon installed here and already have a Linksys 5-port router for home network. No way to use it without procuring a DSL/Cable router? Alternative would be to cross over RJ25 peer-to-peer with dual LAN. Other than NAT is the difference marketing? Thanks for the input!
