Thanks Marvhuffaker
I figured it was too early to do SP6, I just happened to see it on the downloads list yesterday and thought 'maybe'.
You are correct about the root box being a replica server as are the other boxes with a R/W of root, thats their job and they do it very well :) so thats...
Hey folks;
I have about 100 6.5 boxes scattered around the UK currently running SP1. I want to roll out SP5 (Maybe 6 as I see that's just come out).
I was planning on updating the server with the master replica of the root partition on it first and then other servers with a R/W of root...
They did ask me if their hardware costs would increase, I giggled and then said I'll work out an estimate for you :)
I wish I could find the screenshot I used to have of a pair of SFTIII boxes that had been up for over 1500 days, they only got turned off when a nice shiny 6.5 box went in...
Would that have even counted as an upgrade then?
On a serious note I have one client with about 150 6.5 boxes and they are muttering about putting Windows in.
Forgive me for posting this but I feel quite emotional. I've just finished upgrading the last remaining client I had on Netware 4.11 SFTIII to 6.5. I think I'm going to miss 4.11

maxthedork,
I've only really used the array manager. What do I need installed on my PC to connect to the servers and get this info?
Dell openmanage agents are installed on all the servers.
Thanks
Ken
OK, I know that everyone of my 200 6.5 servers has 1 Gig of RAM in, what I don't know is the physical configuration of that RAM. Some will have 4x256 and some 2x512, is there anyway of telling natively with Netware or a tool that will
tell me this info? Unfortunately this info was not...
2 DCs in the domain, after a reboot one now says ntldr missing. If i use recovery console to try and copy ntldr and ntdetect.com to c:\ it says Access is denied.
Any ideas?
I can't see much wrong with my bti.cfg, here it is, if anyone has any ideas
[InstallInfo]
InstallDir=Z:\PVSW\
SystemDir=Z:\SYSTEM\
InstallIniName=PTKSETUP.INI
VersionLevel=8.60
PatchLevel=0
BuildLevel=192
[MicroKernel]
MaxFiles=2000
CacheSize=90480
MaxCursors=2000
BalancedTrees=NO...
The Pervasive install does reset the bti.cfg but we then adjusted it back to our preferred settings and restarted the server so the settings would take effect.
I'll check it again in case I missed something obvious, maybe 8.6 added something that I don't want.
Yeah I did read a TID that said a tradition volume would be better when we did the original upgrade from 4.11 to 6.5, but the performance on Pervasive 2000i and NSS was pretty good, not as good as a traditional volume but still quick enough to use as a trade off. The performance hit only...
Hi There,
After upgrading several servers to Pervasive 8.6 from 2000i SP3 we have noticed a drop in btrieve performance from client PCs running the Pervasive client, WIN98. It is a DOS app accessing a database on the Netware servers, so we use btrbox95 and bdosstub. Before the upgrade to...
