OK, I know that everyone of my 200 6.5 servers has 1 Gig of RAM in, what I don't know is the physical configuration of that RAM. Some will have 4x256 and some 2x512, is there anyway of telling natively with Netware or a tool that will
tell me this info? Unfortunately this info was not documented when the servers were built/installed as it should have been.
I don't much fancy driving around the country and opening up the servers.

Thanks
Ken

Depending on the server platform, the manufacturer may have an NLM that runs at the server prompt that will tell you the standing configuration of your box.

You could tell with the old Compaq servers with the Insight Management agents. I haven't seen the ability to do this with any other vendor (haven't really looked)..

What type of servers?

A Mixture of Dell Poweredge 2500, 2600 and 2800.

Maybe the Dell Openmanage software??

Thanks
Ken

No sales orders, the RAM was actually upgraded in the boxes when we went from 4.11 to 6.5 and no one thought to write down what went in each box.

maxthedork,

I've only really used the array manager. What do I need installed on my PC to connect to the servers and get this info?
Dell openmanage agents are installed on all the servers.

Thanks
Ken

Actually a better way to do this would be to use iManager. If you've never used it before, point your browser to:

https://[ip address of server]:8009

Log in using your username/password (fully qualified distinguished name). Then in the left pane click Manage Hardware, then SMBIOS Information. In the right pane, click Memory Device. This will tell you exactly what memory module is in what bank/slot.

Thanks

All that time I spend in imanager and I never saw that. D'oh.

Thanks
Ken
