It takes two steps. That was my missing link.

Sorry to be a pest, but I can't get past this one.

However, trying to set focus on control is another story.
I have tried all these listed below with no luck.
Can you see anything funny?
'Me.Parent.Child54.SetFocus 'this works...

Hi,
I can't find anyone else asking the question. I must be doing something stupid....

I just wanted to let you know that I solved my problem.
Stupid me added a menu bar which did not include the close command.

Hi Ian:
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have tried compact and repair. Does not resolve.
The only difference between the control that works and the one that removes to close button, is that only two forms are open on the good control and three forms are open on the bad control.
If I enter...

Hi Little Smudge:
Thanks for the reply. No password is set so that is not the problem.
I did a save as type "Microsoft Excel 97-2002 + 5.0/95 workbook".
Although I cannot explain, this did resolve the problem.

Hi:
I have an Access database that links to worksheets in various Excel workbooks.
All links work fine. Except there is one workbook that will not link unless the workbook is open.
Does anyone know why this would happen?
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Hi:
I have a subform that uses Dlookup to find a value. When no value is found since there is no record created as of yet, the subform displays #Error.
I would like to hide this error and replace with a zero until records are created.
Any suggestions for me.
Thank you.
PHV:

MCMCU nchar(24)
MCMCO nchar(10)
MCSTYL nchar(4)
MCFMOD nchar(2)
MCAN8 DESC = MCAN8 number
Looking at it this way, it appears that 'MCAN8 DESC' is the problem, since the table only includes the field 'MCAN8'.
It don't know what this...
