I'm using ICR to a HG as well and it does work but what I've found is that it has been a little annoying in that when a call comes in, it flashes on both the line appearance and on the intercom.
When you pick it up and or put it on hold, both the line appearance and the intercom button flash...
If it's a Cisco IAD I've had much better luck running DMS100 on both the Merlin switch settings as well as in the IAD.
That said, CRC errors usually build on the T1 itself rather than having to do with the PRI setup. I would suspect something physical like a bad cable from the 100DCD to the...
I've got a customer with a Magix R4 running 2 PRIs and 10 POTS lines. The POTS lines are unlimited long distance while the PRIs are per minute. How can I leverage ARS etc to hit these CO lines for outbound calls first? I still want the PRIs to be able to be used for outbound as well, I just...
This has finally been resolved. After forcing escalation to a higher level engineering group at Paetec, the problem was found to be within the IAD programming of dial peers; basically outbound calls were hitting a misprogrammed dial peer that was stripping the first 6 digits from outbound...
Forgot to include the final trace - this is where I dial into remote access and then dial back out using remote access. This goes through everytime without dialing any extra digits. There interesting thing about this trace is that there is NO calling party information passed at all by the PBX...
I finally got a working method of remoting in and found that if I dial the unrestricted remote access number DID that I setup and then dial 9 and a number I get through without the second dialtone. This made me think more about the switch playing a part in this so I setup some traces with...
They are bringing out an Adtran 908e on the 17th to swap with that Cisco IAD. They are suggesting that I also replace the 100D with the latest board which I am assuming they mean to be a 100 DCD. To do that I would need to upgrade the processor to Magix software I believe with the DCD is a...
merlinman - here are the T1 and PRI translations. Pretty basic but if you see anything in here that would facilitate any of these issues please let me know. I replaced the actual number to send with Xs for the customer's privacy but their actual 10 digit main number is what's really in there...
They sent out their tech with a T-BERD and initially he couldn't get calls to work either (ran into the CPN problem we originally had) but once setting an outbound number string on his unit he was able to make calls using Custom protocol. That said, they must not have been that confident in it...
I've got a client running a Merlin Legend R7 V14.2 proc with a newly installed 100D. This is a PRI via a 3 MB Dynamic setup that Paetec (now Windstream I suppose) is providing via this Cisco IAD.
What they are handing off to me is a T1 interface configured for ISDN-PRI with the switch type...
Hey merlinman!
I did check the maint busy and even tried busying out and restoring as well as resetting the slot myself just to see if it made a difference and it didn't. What is confusing is that the card sees the framing from the T1 part (DS1 Loss of signal alarm goes away when you plug in...
It was indeed a bad 100DCD card. Slapped the new card in and it came right up, running smooth. I've found 90+% of the time it's the carrier so I hated to cry uncle on this one but when it's bad gear it's bad gear. Thanks guys for all of your help with this.
Hey Jim - those are apparently options that he has inside his 5ESS switch for the AT&T Custom protocol. I've never been in a 5ESS so I couldn't tell you what they're for exactly but guessing they are probably are just some kind of comment field.
As for the status/resets, yep did all of that...
mikedphones - I threw the L1 flag question at the tech I've been working with and this was his response, which makes me think they really do have it programmed for AT&T Custom; every reference I've seen to the L1 flag issue was when the CO was using a DMS switch which they aren't:
On our 5ESS...
I just did a new install of a Magix R4 V7.1 with the following cards:
CKE5 Proc
024 TDL
Merlin Messaging R4
100DCD
408 MLX (using temporarily for analog line access until the numbers are ported to the PRI)
Everything is working except the PRI was delivered and turned up on Monday and I cannot...
I've got a customer that wants a Magix but is having their PRI delivered via a Cisco IAD2431. Does anyone have experience with this working well/not well? I'm familiar with this being done with Adtran equipment as I know the Adtran gear has capability of emulating AT&T Custom protocol. I do...
FYI we were able to do this by changing network nodes for emmc in CM to point to the IP of the SES and then within SES creating an adjunct pointing to the IP of the emmc. Took some playing around with it but in the end it works great in case anyone is interested.
I brought the old cards back to the shop and plan on testing them, pretty sure I know which card has the bad TTR but unless I'm wrong, there's no way to repair or replace the TTR inside the card right? I just have to toss it and move on?
Somehow I knew you'd be the one to answer this merlinman!
I did as you suggested and the issue was persistent; what I found while trying to test the TTRs was that almost every analog phone would not recognize the DTMF tones, just gave dialtone if you were lucky, otherwise you picked up and got...
