    We have a third party group that did the install. They did not do a full uninstall of the old version before doing an install of the web client. Thanks for the post. Everything helps.

    I would like to know what fixed it as well. I have noticed a couple of posts that problems were fixed by adding the full client. We have had a couple of strange problems going on since we went to the web client, and was following this with great interest.

    Sparse Files

    Go into your asconfig.ini and change the sparse file setting from false to true. This will stop arcserve from putting the full size of the file on tape. You can find additional info on CA's web site.

    Arcserve v7 Netware 6 (No cache Buffers) Empty DB

    Every one of our NetWare servers running Arcserve 7 had database corruption. We would replace all the databases and they would go bad in one to three weeks. Even CA states version 7 had a lot of problems. Version 9 is supposed to be a lot better, so far is seems ok.

    I have installed it on two active 5.1 servers. The only problem I encountered was starting arcserve right after installation. It locked both consoles and abended in PFC. After the server was rebooted, arcserve started without any problems. I'm guessing if you reboot first, there won't be any...
