this was happening to me. turned out to be the processor fan and heatsync were not clamped down correctly.
I would also try only running you computer with the essential componants. take out any unneccary ram, modems, nics, ext..
i dont know what the problem was but i just deleted the jobs and recreated them and they are now working automatically. i also restarted some services. i dont know what the heck the problem was but it is now working thanks.
man i hate tape backups, they require way to much maintance.
i am triing to backup my 2000 machine on a schedualed basis and the backups work manually but not automatically anymore. where is the windows schedualer or BE shedualer in the sys tray, should there be one?

I have a lot of clients that are using Backup Exec and I was just pondering the idea of having an automated system where the client’s backup logs could be sent to my email box. Is this possible? That would be so much easier then having them fax it to me, or checking it myself through PCAnywhere...
you should be able to find this information out on the seagate site. sometimes on the back of the tape cases there is information about which tapes are for which drives.
