i took a SQLserver-Backup (without any error) and tried to restore this fine backup of another machine with similar configuration.
But it doesn't work.
For Backup SQLServer did ask for the databasename and got it in long form, i.e. test-data. Next more SQLServer did ask for the Logfile-name...

i had a lot of trouble to install to diffrent ora-version in the same Oraclehome. It caused the general great messages : end of communication channel !!
At this moment there is NOGO. executables in $ORACLE_HOME are overwritten, badlinked and so on. No other way than install the version...

An .dmp-file cna be a diffrent thing.
For an import of full database ( or a user-schema ) you has to setup the right 'enviroment'. More than this -owner of schema with right privs/tablespaces/space- the oracle version shut be convenient( i.e. is it the same version ???)

this failure is very common but help is near -
please give a little more details about OS-system and Oracle Server version.
Best way should be recreate the DB-Objects in the right Tablespace by the SchemaOwner (not by DBA).
Helpful would be the total size of tables, indexes ..

to implement a firewall IN your Oracle Server is not a good idea.
A usefull firewall should be placed before access to the database is posible.
Note: it wount be supported by ORACLE
