Bookmarks do indeed show as dotted lines under the bookmarked text in the editor, Word in this case - but they shouldn't be showing when you view the page in a browser.
Have you looked at the page in IE (or whichever browser you're using?)

There is - rightclick on your field and choose Properties. One of the options that come up is 'Maximum length', set to unlimited by default. You can only specify the number of characters, but if you type in the field until it's the maximum size you want, then click Tools, Word Count and take...
Easiest way to move an entire sheet to another workbook - display the two workbooks so you can see both and drag the tab of the sheet you want over to the other workbook. Hold down Ctrl while you do it if you want a copy (rather than moving it entirely).
I don't know about "the answer" [wink] but where it's a document that I've full control (ie it's not being used by a user somewhere) I change the font size of the offending extra line to 1.
It's also good for keeping a document down the right number of pages when a table is right on the margin...
Have you tried CHARFORMAT and MERGEFORMAT? The following extracts from the Word help file explain them:
If you update a field, formatting you apply directly to the field results may be lost. To retain the formatting, include the \* MERGEFORMAT switch in the field code. Word includes this...
I think the formula you want is concatenate, for instance:
=CONCATENATE(A1, ", ", A2 ", ", A3 ", ", A4)
would produce 10, 2, 3, 4 if your numbers were in A1 to A4.
