I personally think it came down to economics and that they did not want field tech's removing the PCB's from the system. I have had to do the same thing you did, buy a whole chassis, remove the PS and throw the case away. It is a wastefull way to do things.

The customer forced the telco to replace the card yesterday, so far since they have done that there has only been on frame loss since last night. I will continue to monitor it and keep everyone up to date.

The loopback might prove the card is ok, but you need voice traffic on the pri span to cause frame loss. The pri looks fine as long as there are no B channels in use, once the BCH's start being used up, then the frame losses really start then the card resets the loop.

You will loose all your voicemail etc and you will have to rebuild anything thats based on HD storage such as IP sets, networking etc. Backups from one version can't be restored to another but the MSC card data will migrate accordingly.

I have had this happen before. You should patch the system first, then restore the backup. The problem is that the data you restored is based on a newer core release than the old hard drive so now it can't load patches to compare data. I would take out the old data and re-init the whole machine...

No, everything gets transmitted but when you look at the inventory of the card, the firwmare for the 11XX sets is absent. We have no failures of any kind making this look like design intent.
