I have a button which runs a query. It displays properly. I would like to make it so the only thing the user can do is close the query by using "X". As it is now, the query can be placed back into design mode and modified. Any idea how to do this?
I am trying to detremine a formula (VBA function would be acceptable) to calculate the actual pay date given the nominal pay date. As an example: the nominal paydate for the first payroll in January is 1/15/06. I would like the function to return 1/13/06 which is the last working day prior to...
This is actually an XP Home problem but I do not see a forum for that so I have asked the question here since the solution, if available, might be the same.
The keyboard I am using has a power key. If this key is pressed while the system is running it very soon won't be. My problem is that...
I want to include an image from a scanned report in another report I am preparing. The scanned image is a TIFF. I inserted the picture and cropped it to size. There is text above and below it.
This worked well. I decided it might be nice to have a border around the image to set it off. I...
I have been away from this project for a while but finally am back. I probably didn't do a very good job of describing it because I am familiar with what all these words mean in this context and no one else trying to help me would have that understanding.
To start Crystal 8.5 using SQL data...
Is it possible to track the absolute page number while using the page MofN feature ( and resetting the page number based on a certain grouping). We produce a large number of statements with one run of the report program. The report is about 2,000 pages and occasionally we need to reprint a...
I have a report that uses a subreport to summarize data which appears in the report. The data being reported on is account data and the subreport summarizes balances for certain subaccounts within a major account.
In the main part of the report, each subaccount appears with its beginning...

I think much of the response to this has been not very helpful. I looked up this problem this morning and was surprised to see such a recent thread at the top.
Basically, Excel can not do simply what Quattro pro has been able to do for 15 years with great ease. From what I see of other items...
After posting, I kept digging. It turns out this is an upgrade problem from 2000 to XP (and also 2003). It is described with solution in the Microsoft Knowledge base article 299339.

I know this thread is over a year old but I will try to write anyway. I have exactly the same problem and have tried the book solution to no avail. Did you ever find a solution to this problem?
John
I know this is a long time after this originally appeared but I had the exact same question.
I am trying to combine 4 independent reports so they will print as one so they can be saved to one PDF file.
I added a field to the query being used for one of the multiple page sub reports (which is a...
Thanks for the advise. In the end, I have decided to build a file in the stored procedure and access it that way. It works but I still want to improve my knowledge of how these things are done.
I am sorry about not providing an example it is hard to do but I will make the attempt...
I am late to the table in this discussion but I would simply like to know how to call a Stored Procedure which is stored in a MS SQL database from Access. Also, if the stored procedure returns data (as in a select statement with no INTO clause) can Access capture that data and place it in a...
That is a good question. The subreport gets all of the data that is available to the main report but really only needs a very small subset of it. The subreport data could be drawn out by a much more specific query that would deal with less data. The account balances are stored in a separate...
The final query is rather long but please let me describe why I need it twice and see if that helps.
The report is a statement of activity. It is organized by account and each account has multiple sub accounts, typically 8-10. In the detail section of the report, transactions are grouped by...
That sounds frighteningly inefficient since the stored procedure will return the same data each time. I guess with cache it will start doing it a little more quickly. The sub report would probably be printed about 700 times (all different, it is a summary of what immediately proceeds it) in a...
Lisa:
It would appear you have the first part right. Your post came to me right after my second one.
The following is what I have for the selection formula for the sub report:
{TestStatement.ownerfundid} = {?Pm-TestStatement.ownerfundid} and
{TestStatement.fundid} =...
