Thanks for the idea, unfortunately, that won't resolve the issue. I get the message that says the best driver is already installed. Windows uses the Realtek driver and even though I browse to the drivers that come with the GA311, XP won't install them.

I'm with you MikeWestSide... I have a Creative sound card and my sound does the same thing. I've tried everything mentioned in the article rjkrash mentioned plus I've installed the newest drivers from Creative. Still not any different. So, I'll join you in looking for help with this problem.
