Hello everyone. I have ran into a bit of an annoyance. I had to go to a customers location today to fix an email problem with Outlook 2003 and Outlook XP. They were able to receive email but not send. I got that problem squared away by changing their outgoing servers to Yahoo's new one...

Seperating voice and data traffice with remote phones

Well, at the remote site we have a 5012 router connected to a 3com baseline switch and 5 3101 Basic phones out there. As for the connection it is a simple T1 line. I don't think the equipment has anything to do with it. What we did is created two seperate VLANs; one for voice and one for data...

    Which processor would be better?

Thanks for all of your support. I appreciate the amount of feedback. The system is running 2 Gigs of DDR2 PC2 4200 ram. What I think is happening is that the amount of transactions between the processor and the memory is great. Disk activity is minimal, so I know that the hard drive is not...

    Which processor would be better?

Very true felixc, I didn't even take that into consideration. Maybe I should have been more descriptive. The PC I am using right now does the job. It just takes about 5 minutes to say, zoom in on a specific part. The computer is basically an HP Pavillion with a Quatro card and extra RAM...

    Which processor would be better?

Hello, I am building a system that will be used for 3D modeling with autodesk building systems. I was wondering which processor would be better; an Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe 2.66GHz or an AMD Athlon X2 5200+ Windsor 2.6 GHz? I heard that the Intel is great for overclocking but I thought I would...

Client unable to VPN through a PIX

I believe the VPN type is a GRE Tunnel with IPsec enabled NetworkGhost. I am willing to bet he is using the microsoft client. I think that horus42's solution should work. If I permit everything from his company through the pix then nothing should get blocked.

Client unable to VPN through a PIX

Sorry for not responding so quickly. I had taken a day off to get some things for college ready. Thanks for the clear up of ACLs, horus42. The only other thing I can think of that I would have to do is add some more permit statements to allow access from my end into the pix. As for static...

Client unable to VPN through a PIX

horus42 I don't know exactly what the end device is, but I just sent an email to the client to find out. He has a temporary DSL connection and everything works out fine with that, so I at least know that the companies end works. I didn't apply the ACL because I am not sure if it will block...

    SNMP for windows

Hi guys Sorry I didn't get to respond to your question Nigel, but I have been juggling two jobs; getting an SNMP server set up and setting up a PIX for a customer's site. I have heard of MRTG and I am trying that out with others. At this point all suggestions are welcome. What I am basically...
