No matter what UNIX client I select, I can only get up to 36mb/min. The Windows box is using Gigabit connectivity and so are ALL of my UNIX clients.
After 3 days of not being able to use ArcServe to get backups, I have resurrected our old backup software (HP DataProtector).
I have been working on this for 2 days.
I am running Arcserve 11.5 sp3 on a Windows 2003 server. I can not get the AIX client through put higher than 36Mb/min.
I have followed CA's suggestion for the AIX client and their suggestion for the ArcServe Windows Server.
No improvement.

I am currently running Solaris 2.7 on an E450 server. When I connect to the system and do a "who am i" command, I get my FULLY qualified domainname of my PC.
Example, normally it should read "156.87.33.27", instead I am getting, "PCM21334.xxx.xxxx.com".

Do you have the ArcServe client on this server?
My experience is that agent(s) for say, SQL or the Open File Agent work in conjuction with the ArcServe Windows client agent...
My suggestion is to close ArcServe, shutdown the services and re-run the Tape Configuration wizard.
Some how the application does not know what tapes are what...
