    FindFirst Method Problems

I am using the finfirst method as an after update event to set the active record from a query recordset. I am connecting through ODBC to a SQL server, which is a new thing, and suddenly having big problems with this one form. The form also includes a subform, that looks at the related records...

    FindFirst Method Bookmark Problems

I administer an access db that I recently migrated to a SQL server back end, but are still using the access front end. I have a form that is used to apply payments to jobs- the form uses a query which looks at the primary table for the recordset. The form also includes a subform that looks at...

How can I set up a combo box to add the values typed to a table if not

I need to make a combo box lookup values in a table, and also have entering data into the box write that dat to the table, while still saving the values to the table in use on the form. Is this possible? How? Thanks

    Locked Out!!!

I administer an access db that has 8 to 10 people using it at once, and I keep getting a "unable to update, locked by----" message, but I have specified no locks in db options on all the terminals. What have I missed? What causes this lock conflict, and how do I stop it? ICCPM

    Writing records to two sources

I have already split the database into the front end and the data file, but I am glad to hear I can make a third file for backup...Now can I have the front end table write to both the backup and the data files simultaeously, or will I need to append the records periodically?

    Access Alternatives?

I don't know that I was trying to make a point.&nbsp;&nbsp;I was asking a question.&nbsp;&nbsp; Is access at the bottom of the database chain?&nbsp;&nbsp;I am asking because i inherited an access database that is crucial to our production at my co. and is somewhat fruity.&nbsp;&nbsp;I am trying...

microsoft access 2000 replication and autonumbers

Well, I know it seems odd, but I am in a situation where I inherited a DB that another wrote, and somewhat short-sightedly.<br>The database is for tracking shipments of freight, and the autonumber field is our Pro#, or in-house tracking number.&nbsp;&nbsp;I need then to stay in order for...

microsoft access 2000 replication and autonumbers

what is the syntax you would use to make a form find the greatest number value in a tsble, then add 1?&nbsp;&nbsp;I need to write this to avoid using an autonumber field, as replication wreaks havoc on my use of auto number(makes random instead of incremental)

    edit permissions

I need to set up an access dbase so that it disallows editing of specific records after a yes/no field is updated for the first time.
