I have run msconfig and the following are ticked: system tray, scan registry, PC health, second chance, microsoft office start up, and Open Panda Titanium antivirus. Nothing suspicious there as far as I can see. What do you think? Many thanks

On booting-up a message comes up on the black screen "Windows could not update the file %1 from %2, (next line) %1: %2". It takes ages to boot up but so far has managed to keeping working. Any ideas, please? Many thanks in advance

The fault has returned when closing a document immediately after producing it. Under Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library it reads "Program C\PROGRAM FILES\MICROSOFT OFFICE\OFFICE\WINWORD.EXE. Abnormal program termination". I then have to close down word. Any hope of a cure? Many thanks.

Thank you, Sylve. Since running MSCONFIG and altering some of the start-up programms, the fault seems to have righted itself. I have no screensaver, have Word 2000 and Windows ME. What is OS? Should the fault come back, I hope you won't mind me coming back to you.
