Thanks MasterofNone - I'll give it a go!

    CD-RW incompatibility

Thanks for that guys... but can you or anyone else offer a slightly more thorough explanation as to what's going on for a newbie at this...? Will these more sophisticated burning software products AUTOMATICALLY burn in UDF rather than CDFS..? And if so, why..?

    CD-RW incompatibility

I used to be able to exchange files easily from my PC (Win 98 1st edition) to my MAC (OS 8.6) using CD-RWs. The discs were automatically burned using the UDF (Universal Data Format) via a Hewlett Packard standalone 7500 series burner and Adaptec Easy CD Creator version 3.5b burning software on...

    CD burning format incompatibility

Thanks to all of you for that... yes, I was beginning to think "could it be a software issue?" I'd appreciate, "TSSTECHIE" any tips on how I turn XPs burning software off.. I'm very much a newbie to Win XP - mine is the Home edition, by the way. Thanks again!

    CD burning format incompatibility

I've run into an unexpected problem with my new PC - not even sure which forum to post this problem in but I'd be grateful for any help! OLD PC: 4 yrs old, Win 98(original) using a Hewlett Packard stand-alone CD-writer (7500 series). I regularly use RW CDs to transfer data onto my Mac-OS8.6...

PC sound card and Macromedia Flash expert please!

I can assure you "Mono Out" isn't there! I've listed above all the other options.. (Volume Control, Wave, CD, Synthesizer, Microphone, Line, Auxiliary, Video, Modem).. and I've tried muting each one, one by one or in combinations without success. I've also tried the same with the...

PC sound card and Macromedia Flash expert please!

No.. no I realise that.. the trouble is that "Mono Out" simply isn't there as an option that I can tick!

PC sound card and Macromedia Flash expert please!

I'm afraid I can't find "Mono Out" as an option... am I missing something really obvious.. or doesn't everyone have it..? However I've tried muting all other options anyway: (Volume Control, Wave, CD, Synthesizer, Microphone, Line, Auxiliary, Video, Modem) None of these seem to...

Flash and PC soundcard expert reqired please!

Actually, it's simpler and even more curious: If, while I'm playing a flash movie with those digital clicks I simply RIGHT-hand click on the loudspeaker icon in the lower status bar... then it clears those audio clicks immediately. But, again, they return on opening the next movie. Hope this...

Flash and PC soundcard expert reqired please!

My PC has 64MB of RAM, Windows 98 1st edition. I have a Creative Labs AudioPCI 64V Mixer. I tried a tip from the Windows 98 forum with some pretty weird results: Hope this info helps.... I double clicked on the loudspeaker icon to bring up Volume Control.. then selected...

PC sound card and Macromedia Flash expert please!

Very Interesting: Yes, I have the loudspeaker icon and an icon for my Audio Mixer: Creative Soundblaster Audio PCI 64V. I double clicked on the loudspeaker icon to bring up Volume Control.. then selected Options/Properties/Recording Control... Now.. when I start playing a flash movie with...

PC sound card and Macromedia Flash expert please!

All Flash Movies I create with streaming audio playback on my PC (both locally and off-line) with added irritating digital-sounding clicks.. however they sound ABSOLUTELY FINE on my laptop and every other PC and MAC I've ever tested out. In other words it seems to be some sort of local conflict...

sound, clicks and ticks during playback

I've dug this question out of the Archive because I'm suffering the same problem... and it seems "fb"s question went unresolved. Every Flash movie I've produced with audio sounds scratchy with digital "clicks" in the test environment, when playing back the .swf file AND when...

    Color changes in Flash5

Why does Flash 5 CHANGE the shades of colors that have been selected for Stage Background or Fill Color. For example.. if you type in a Fill Color of E6E6FA (lavender) and then put the dropper back over the Fill Color Swatch.. it registers E8E8F8 or E0E0FA depending on where the dropper is...

ActionScript to close a pop-up window..?

Many thanks! I thought they all refered to launching a pop-up window rather than if the movie was actually WITHIN one... but right at the bottom lies the solution. I've adapted it as follows: -- Make your final movie frame a KeyFrame -- Right-click on the frame.. select Actions.. --...

ActionScript to close a pop-up window..?

I have a movie which is self-contained in a small pop-up window which is launched from the main web-page. Is it possible to use ActionScript in the final frame of the movie to automatically CLOSE the pop-up window that contains it..? In other words, the user would click on a link on the main...

Steaming Sound distorts in Flash 5

Thanks for checking it out. I'm getting the a similar problem of "clicking" from the on-line site on my main PC, but curiously my less-well specified laptop seems happier to play the movies. Maybe it's a quirk of my PC's soundcard..? I'm unclear how to set the buffering, beyond the...

Steaming Sound distorts in Flash 5

I've uploaded the test-site I'm working on: http://users.tinyonline.co.uk/staples/edm You'll find an opening animation with a few sounds... then in the main site go to the VOICEOVERS and PRESENTATION pages to test out the SHOWREELS. I instructed Flash to compress the audio at 32kbps...
