I think it has to do with the memory area concerned with pagefiles and Virtual memory: (control panal/sytems/proformance). space on your hd that Windows NT uses as if it were actual memory.
Swap files or pagefiles that go between the hd and ram when needed. It also configures the registry size...
winnt sometime has tough time recognizing some scsi adapters
look for the atapi driver during the setup that is ide-based, try the s key and choose the atapi 1.2 driver. upgrade might be in order. you may have to replace it with a hcl recommendation.
Wouldn't fdisk erase all files /no log on/no way to back up files/lose all? In a sense the app boots up to a point, so the prob is possibly in the apps middle boot process? Could be missing boot files that might have been previously erased or a regedit misshap, setup minus format is certainly...
