So I run cstop/cstart on the domain server that I want to install ARCServe on? This error happens on the initial Install wizard for ARCServe for Windows 11.
I tried domainname\usernam before with no luck. There are seperate fields for domain, username, password...
Here is the error message I get when I try to add an authenticated user on the install, after giving the caroot password:

Hi,
I'm trying to do a fresh reinstall of ARCServe 11 for Windows on a a W2K AD domain server, and when I get to the install stage where it asks for a caroot password, it takes that fine. But, at the next step when it asks for a domain account and password for ARCServe to use, I always get...

I would like to check the config settings on the 2950...but I'm not sure how. As I mentioned, I haven't accessed its web interface since the initial setup of the switch. I tried connecting to its web-based tool on 10.0.0.1, but no luck. Could I use the...
I'm running Exchange 2003 with Outlook clients and I'm having a problem with PSTs. Basically most of the Outlook clients were setup to leave mail on the Exchange server and NOT use PSTs. But one Outlook client was configured to use PSTs, so a user's mail got pulled from the server into a PST...
Well I tried using a signal converter to make the straight through cable become a crossover, but that still did not do the trick. I've also tried connecting the the cable to the 5th port on the Linksys which seems to be the 'uplink' port, but no luck...
Hi,
I'm not very experienced with Cisco switches, so any help is appreciated. My problem is that I'm trying to connect a basic Linksys 10/100 switch to my Cisco 2950 switch with a straight-through cat5 cable. I get an amber LED on the ports that are connected, which shows that there is...
I'm trying to use the Windows native backup program to run as a scheduled task every evening. The job runs fine while I'm logged in as domain admin, but will not run if I am not physically logged in as domain admin. It seems like the credentials are not saved for the job correctly. Because if...
Is there a way to configure auto drive mappings in a Win2K3/WinXP AD domain per computer, as opposed to per user?
Or do I need to create a logon batch file for each domain user?
Thanks
I suppose I could connect another machine and make it the backup DC, but I was looking for ways to just back up the AD system data/files using the native Windows NTBackup program. We have ARCServe 9 in use on other servers but I've never restored from ARCServe before, so I'm just looking to...
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with moving a Win2K3 Active Directory infrastructure to a fresh Win2K3 installation on a new server? I may need to upgrade our primary domain server, but wanted to know if there was a way to move all of the AD info/data into the new install on the new...
I think on Windows machines the C$ is only shared out for admin purposes and can not be changed. If the ARCserve service account/agent has admin permissions, then it should be able to access it, correct?
Thanks
Hi,
I'm using ARCServe 9 on one Windows 2000 server and it backs up everything except for the C$ on the second Win2K server. Do I need to try a different "Retry" setting, such as Lock Mode if Deny Write Fails? What are the downsides to using this mode? Any suggestions are appreciated...
Thanks
