You can also go to the very top of the list of mail messages, highlight today's date, push in the wheel and select "delete prior" which deletes everything before and including that date.
Not sure about the yellow status light, but to enable wireless calendar sync, the change must be made on the client software. Under intellisync, go to configure pim and change the calendar sync method to wireless. You will then see the status change to enabled in the admin tool.
