try adjustnig your Monitor refresh frequency, im on win2k right now but Xp should be almost the same.... right click the desk top and go to properties. Select the settings tab at the top and the go to advanced. Click on the tab at the top that says monitor and my guess it is will be on 60Htz...
to login to other computers in a xp/98 environment you must create a user for the 98 computer on each winXP box.

i purchased Jungle Strike (by Electronic Arts) and it never ran On my AMD Athlon 650 because it wasnt an INtel CPU also (i even bought the game twice because i thought the disk was bad...) Need for Speed is also an Electronic Arts game... go figure. -Nate
it could be internet connection problems, if you are using dial up and maybe have a bad/noisy phone line? lost packets?
your favorites might load fast becasue they might be stored on your local hard disk? just a guess. -Nate
