Goldmine crashes when Filter icon or menu is selected

All connections are made through Citrix for all users. When logged in at the server it works OK as it does with Citrix V3.5 connections. It seems to be Appsense which is the main difference between those that work and those that don't.

Goldmine crashes when Filter icon or menu is selected

Doug, It happens to LAN clients who connected to a server which has been upgraded to Citrix 4.0 (those on the 3.5 system are OK). It is an SQL database. There is no message at the Client end but my IT man says the error at the server indicates that LockDownMgr.dll in Appsense is the cause…...

Goldmine crashes when Filter icon or menu is selected

Help! Goldmine 6.7 running under Citrix V4.0 has the problem that as soon as the Filter or Groups icon is clicked (or menu Lookup - Filters is selected) the whole application crashes. It restarts OK with no loss of data but I cannot filter which is crucial to my admin tasks. Chris

    MDB to MDE conversion

Thanks Moonbase, but selecting Tools > Properties gives the same message: "Project is unviewable - OK, Help" so the only way out is OK. Other sources indicate that once an MDE has been created there is no way to the project code other than going back to the MDB which created it.

    MDB to MDE conversion

I have an application saved as an MDE which was written by some unknown person a while back. The application needs amendment but I can only find a sligghtly earlier MDB file which should not be too difficult to work with BUT when I try to edit/show the VBA code I get a message "Project Not...

    Query that selects "all records"

Thanks misscrf, It works where company <>0 but when it is 0 I get a message saying the whole thing is too complex to evaluate and I should try to add variables. I do have a lot of fields selected but this criteria is the only test and the data is not even sorted. Any other ideas?? Chris

    Query that selects "all records"

In an Employee database which goes across several subsidiary companies I want each Company User to be able to see ONLY their company records but Group Users should see ALL records. The data source for my form is a query: Select EmployeeID, EmployeeCompanyID etc from EMPLOYEES where...

Inserting a "Browse" button on a form

I have a field on a form which holds a filename (Complete path as a hyperlink) and I am trying to add a button next to the field so the user does not have to type (or mistype) the name but can choose by browsing. This seems to be common to many applications but I cannot find the control. Any...

    Goldmine 6.5 and Word2003

I have added a new template (created with Word2003) and when I try to merge it in Goldmine 6.50.40321 I get an error: "Cannot find registration entry for: Word.Document.8\shell\open" Has anyone any else encountered this? Does anyone have a solution?

    Record Ownerships

A bit late I know: I have the same requirement and I use the LOOKUP.INI to attribute the owner of each record based on the Postcode (ZIP). My lookup.ini has records such as Lookup1=left(ZIP,2) AB=84scot AL=80nlonn etc Which enters the right owner as soon as the postcode is added. To do this...

    Using DIRCODE in Lookup.ini

Richard, I followed your logic further and found &COMMONDIR which does differentiate them. Thanks, Chris

    Using DIRCODE in Lookup.ini

Richard, I should have said I have two Contact Sets rather than two databases. &SYSDIR gives the same result for both Contact Sets, "\\Server\GoldMine\" so I still cannot distinguish between them. Any other thoughts? Regards Chris

    Using DIRCODE in Lookup.ini

Is there a way of using DIRCODE in lookup.ini? I have two groups of users using separate databases with separate rules on curtaining but with only one lookup.ini I am getting the rules mixed up. I have populated a field (USERDEF03) with "INT" for one group and Blank for the other...

    Goldmine and Citrix

I am experiencing the same problems. We recently converted to SQL on GM6.0 but had to take the GMbase files back to dBase as we experiencing deadlocks on SQL. The move back to dBase for the GMBase files was the suggested remedy from FrontRange. However now the "Read Fail"s are back...
