well AFAIK, code stops when a msgbox is shown. so i think the best solution to your problem is to create a form that looks like a msgbox, and put a timer on it, then when it fires, unload the form. and make it so that the buttons on the msgbox form call subs on the main form.
i hope this...
what programs do you have set to load up at startup? have a look in both your startup folder and the hkey_local_machine/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run folder in your registry. it could be a third party app loading (or multiple apps) that are causing this. generally, i don't think...

if its an internal modem, it is not fixed on any COM port. in fact, windows just allocates it a com port when you install it.... so the chances are it isn't on com 3 yet (which won't be recogognised as a port, since it hasn't been created) which explains why you can't open it.

saving these particular values is VERY easy with VB..... just use SaveSetting the first time your app runs. you would do this:
SaveSetting "Imaging", "Fees", "Clocking", "1"
etc., for all the values.
hope this helps ;)

well i don't think it's possible..... but you could always make a little picture and use it INSTEAD of text.... this way you can have fancy text decoration aswell. But maybe the little shortcut thing (what & does... what's it called? the name escapes me.) well anyway maybe it wont work then...
I would have thought with some fancy API usong FindWindow, GetDlgItem and SetWindowText would be able to do just this....... unless the buttons are like the "start" button, which i think is graphics-based so you can't. oh well.

hey! i got this the other night aswell!! being new to win2k (and familiar with win98's BSOD's) it kinda freaked me out. I was actually trying to get SpyNet (a packet sniffer) to work at the time... i tried to get it to use some adapter that it couldn't..... and so it started a memory dump, with...
OK i think i can kill both q's with 1 stone. basically, in VB6, u can do a "relative link" (if u like) to another exe. ie this would execute "setup.exe" in the same path as the exe:
Shell App.Path & "\setup.exe"
because "App.Path" returns the full path...
