transmission speeds
Does his laptop have firewire? This would be much faster than USB. I would not go the IrDA route, I serioualy doubt whether you get anywhere near 115mb'sec! I would be surprised if you a 1/10 of that! The best way would deffinatley be to use a crossover cable. Why dont you want to mess with...- Dellmon

How safe is wireless?
Like bcastner says properly done its fine. If you use WEP and mac address filtering you should be fine id have thought. It all depends how determined someone is to get in. If possible you could use static IP's and stop DHCP broadcast. Then only allow specific IP's access...- Dellmon

Help!!!! - Urgent assistance required!!!
Is it a roaming profile? If so there will be a cached copy on any PC he has logged onto. Dont logon onto it as the user though as it will copy over it with the new one. If its not roaming and they havent been backed up then I dont think there is anyway of getting it back.- Dellmon
