Thanks. Already saw it. That registry value isn't in my system. This is one of the things I've found over and over, but it isn't causing my stop error.
I've got a computer running 2000 sp3, which will work in safe mode, but in normal mode shortly after logging in (workstation only or on the Novell LAN) it will generate a blue screen with STOP 0x000000B8 error, with parameters (0,0,0,0). It also says "A wait operation, attach process or yield...
I have a problem with a couple of XP Pro machines connecting to a 2003 server.
They are reconnecting the F: drive on the server correctly. Yet, when starting up I get a could not connect network drive message. When I go to My Computer or any other method of looking at the drive, it is showing...
Small clarification. The Windows 98 workstations don't get to the internet as described above. A brand new XP Pro workstation gets on just fine (just like the server).
Customer with a new server - Windows 2003. Shared DSL line via Linksys router. Before I installed the new server, everyone was on the internet fine. After installation, only the server gets on the internet - workstations can ping the internet (including by name - DNS is working), but that's...
FYI:
It worked great - ordered, then downloaded/activated the upgrade licenses (server+5, 25addl), made the disks, ran the installation and set up beautifully. Then I used the migration wizard to migrate from the old server to the new server. It took all night (I didn't stick around), but...
Actually, 5.1 is still being sold by Novell. The question is, if I do a migration "across the wire" can my 5.1 install (on the new server) be an upgrade version? Or will that not work because it is being installed on a new machine (MS does things to stop that, but I don't know what...
I have a customer with a fairly old 25-user 3.12 server. They are getting a new server and the old server will be tossed. The question is: can they save a ton of money by buying an upgrade to 5.1 (or 6.0) rather than a new license?
I know two scenarios that might work.
1. Upgrade in place...
Problem solved!
Since the problem looked like QuickReport, I did a search for that keyword. Came up with some messages mentioning updating the QuickReport, which I did - to QuickReport 2.0K from the www.qusoft.com site.
I'm not sure what else it fixed, but it definitely took care of this...
Steph:
Printers was definitely the place to start. I found that her default is a networked HP 4000 (via an NT server and a JetDirect). When I change the default, the report runs, but as long as that printer (which is of course the closest to her office) is the default, I get the error.
Any...
I have a Delphi 3 application which works fine on most computers - Win95, 98, NT, but on one NT user's (maybe more, I'm not sure) machine, it can't seem to run the reports. On further testing, it seems that it bombs when it tries to create the form which contains the QuickReport using the...
She is set as an administrator. Since she is really the only user of the PC, that seemed the simplest way to get the software installed without constantly changing profiles. What's so odd is that it had been working fine for a week - all the software and the desktop - and then she all of a...
A user of mine with a brand new Windows 2000 computer has had an interesting problem. She called to say that the desktop was messed up and it was asking for the Wordperfect 2000 installation CD. I theorized that somehow she was logged in as administrator rather than as herself. Sure enough, I...
I had a customer with a similar problem. The problem started after he put a second drive in to copy some data, then removed it. He was getting the login loop as well as the pagefile problem. I figured it might be looking for the pagefile on D, so we put a drive in to solve that, but we still...
I found the solution. A company in the Netherlands made PDFLinks, which is an alternative to PDFMaker. Like PDFMaker, it puts the links and table of contents info into links in the PDF, converting the text itself by printing to a Postscript file and using Distiller. Unlike PDFMaker, which...
Has anyone actually gotten OLE to run PDFMAKER? I've been trying, using Delphi, with code similar to that above, but it only sort-of, sometimes, halfway works. It seems like it should be easy, but it is not. Seems that the way to get the Bookmarks and links to work automatically when...
