Hello group, I am new to this particular forum but am trying to add a trunk group to a 8720 switch. I have more experience on IP office as this question relates to the 8720 having a direct ip route to an IP Office. When I add the trunk group, I am stumped by the TAC or trunk access code entry...
We have been migrating users to a new 6.5 postoffice and have been doing this successfully for a couple of weeks, however, a remote user accesses his Groupwise remotely via this new server and can get email and attachments no problem but when a user tries to open a Word file saved directly into...
Does anyone know of a simpler definition of all the link state advertisements type 1-7 so that it can stand out in your mind more clearly. I seem to have problems knowing exactly what they do so therefore I confuse some of them at times.
I would like to mix up the line cards a bit. I would like to use the 10/100/1000 cards qty of 2, but would also like to accomodate older architecture like 24 port 100fx fiber card for fiber fed closets. The SUpII card has a MSFC-2/pfc-2 module built in. There are other cards in between, but...
I am looking to replace a core network with a new 6509 chassis. I am replacing a cabletron/enterasys ssr8600 16 slot switch/router. My question is: how much more value do i get with SUP 720 card vs Sup II. I'm not sure I can justify the costs. I want to take advantage of 10/100/1000 ae 48 port...
I haven't added a bunch of machines recently. The post from pansophic makes perfect sense but the strange thing is that I am mirroring the port from my core switch to my sniffer from the PDC Wins server. I could see where the switches would only show broadcast to the sniffer except for traffic...
I have 493 nodes on this segment. (493*492)/120 = 2021 per second. We are not exceeding that by far so I guess I am looking at a false positive on the Etherpeek sniffer. However, in looking at the requests vs responses, the requests outnumber the responses 10 to 1. Thanks a lot for help in this...
Thanks for your response. The arps are coming from all different machines. We don't use an internal DNS, just WINS. This maybe normal on this network as I have not baselined the arp traffic but my sniffer Etherpeek NX gives me an alarm that seems more than usual of arps greater than 5 per second.
Hello all, I run a sniffer on my busier segments and get arp requests greater than 5 per second all the time. I;m wondering as far as baseling the network that this is the norm or could it be that it is indicating high arps due to this welchia virus that I have been fighting in the last couple...
