i did clear the entries there and all my other machines are fine, its just these particular machines. i also ran spybot program and it picked up some things which it took care of. i also tried checkin the registry and i deleted/modified some keys but the changes dont seem to stay or save.

currently there are no group policies being applied to these machines, and the machines that had group policies the setting was removed IN the policy.

i have a 2k server ,some 2k pro machines and 2 win98 , i have a DSL/router doing DHCP and am using a cisco switch.
