    dBase-IV on W2K-PRO

Hey Center, I do agree. dBASE-II for C/PM was good. dBASE-IV had me going for a while but the automatic code generator did save a lot of typing. David Lee

dBASE-IV conversion to Visual dBASE in W2Kpro

Hi BrainB, Thanks for your response. Not an encouraging comment though. I depend on dBASE to keep track of my drawing, project and PO numbers. I hate the thoughts of going back to a cumbersome manual system. =================================================== Hi cfneumann, Thanks for your...

dBASE-IV conversion to Visual dBASE in W2Kpro

Can anyone tell me (1) if I can cleanly convert from dBASE-IV to Visual dBASE by Borland and (2) will Visual dBASE work OK in a W2Kpro environment? The conversion doesn't have to be perfect, just reasonably clean.

DBase III on NT WS - configuration?

Hey FredWagner, I can't understand why no one has answered you since July of 2000. Browse through this forum and you'll find that the newer the Windows, the worser dBASE works. Regards, David Lee

    INSTALLING DBASE ON XP

Hey mkyin2003, The popular theory is that newer versions of Windows only have a bare-bones DOS. Worse still, the faster the processor the more errors dBASE-IV will throw at you. I know, I've been there and got the tee shirt. Browse through this forum and you'll find more programmers with the...

    dBase-IV on W2K-PRO

Hey s36e175, Most of my code is for keyboard entry; therefore, almost every module has at...say, get's. Can you give me a good link to a Visual FoxPro WEB site for more information? Regards, David Lee

    dBase-IV on W2K-PRO

Hey Mark, Thanks for your concern and additional input. Below is something I found about the history of dBase you may find interesting. I used the original dBase-II on an Apple IIe with a CP/M card in '79 or '80. That's how old I am! I tried to reinstall dBase from the original 5 1/2&quot...

    dbase420.acc dBASE initialization error

Hey Chipotle, I have a similar problem with dBase-IV on W2Kpro "Password file is in use by another: DBSYSTEM.DB ***dBASE IV initialization error" It worked OK for months then suddenly it won't initialize. There is no DBSYSTEM.DB anywhere on the network. Maybe when you find a...

New to Dbase, where to start?

Hey dcomartin, Just so you know, you'll need a complete set of dBase-IV version 2.0 books ('Quick Reference Guide' - 90 pages, 'Using Dbase-IV' - 482 pages, 'Getting Started' - 300 pages, 'Language Reference' - 792 pages and 'Programming in dBase-IV' - 534 pages) I have them all but I'm not...

    dBase-IV on W2K-PRO

Hey Mark, Thanks for the response. I should have mentioned that I get this error when I try to initialize dBase. I can't even open up my own code. dBase won't even initialize. There is no server. It's a peer to peer. There are no other users. I've laid-off everyone else. There's only me...

    dBase-IV on W2K-PRO

I'm a self-employed engineer. I've been using dBase-IV(DOS) for years in a WIN (95/98/2000pro) environment with no problem. With no warning, I've suddenly received an error when I try to initialize "Password file is in use by another: DBSYSYEM.DB". There is no one else on my network...
