Been listening to him for 10 years now telling everybody that Windows is great. I've been using Windows since 3.1 all the way up to XP home. Now I'm learning Linux.
I guess I've been lucky. I wasn't able to even install SP1.
Based on what I've been hearing/reading, I wont be either.
Maybe I'll just fdisk and "downgrade" to Win2k and leave the XP disk under the truck tire.

Do you have the System Restore feature turned on? (prob a stupid question, but you never know - considering I made that mistake a couple of times myself) ;)
Try this:
Control Panel\User Accounts
CLick on te icon that is You, and in the upper right hand corner click on "Mnagae my Network Passwords"

I had some problems with XP and PCA. Turned out to be a version conflict. We "were" using PCA 10.0. Had to go out and blow MORE MONEY on 10.5 for the XP compatability.
Gotta love it....(yeah right)!

goto Internet options\advanced tabthere are two ftp referances there, mine are both unchecked nd i can ftp from ie6 fine
I would stick with Zone Alarm. You'll be able to configure it the way you want to. The built in one, from what I've seen when I played wit it doen't allow for any config.
