    AD Replication

Thanks for your reply Spirit. I think I probably never explained it correctly. Where I said site 1 to site 2 etc, I never made it clear that they were all remote sites and never included head office in that plan as they would all use the default link if available. As there are only 6 sites...

    AD Replication

Can you confirm what I am doing is correct. I have two DC's at our head office, one of them holding the FSMO roles. I am about to deploy 5 remote DC's at 5 different locations and trying to figure out the best way to handle the AD replication throughout the forest. We use MPLS for our WAN so...

SQL 2000 backup and reporting server

Thanks Catadmin for the reply. Denny's FAQ looks like it will help us get to where we want to go but looking through it, the script will log users off the backup server acting as the reporting server. If this is the case, will the report being generated continue after the restore or will the...

    Upgrade 2000 dc's to 2003 dc's with ts licensing

I will be upgrading our 2000 DC's soon to 2003 and I am confident in the steps I need to take. One of the DC's in a TS licensing server. The terminal servers (not DC's) will remain on W2K as most of our clients (500) are XP Pro or W2K Pro and these do not need a TS CAL to connect to W2K TS but...

    Back up NTFS permissions

I have a shared drive on my server with various folders. The ntfs permissions are set on each folder at creation. I am a little worried that if a folder is created and ntfs permissions are set incorrectly it will wipe out the current settings. Is there a way to back up the ntfs permissions on...

    Reboot Script Help Needed

Do you have resource manager installed? This comes with a reboot facility that can be tuned on a per server or per farm basis. It works for me and gives the users all the warning they could need.
