Well... Some old applications (like our FoxPro 2.6 based) don't use Windows Printer Drivers and they dump the output to the LPT Ports. When you're using a network printer, You need to capture the printer port to a network port so you can redirect the output.

I have had the same problem,
Do this to get around it:
( I'm sure there are other ways to fix it too! )
in Windows XP machine run the Add Printer Wizard and install the printer locally on a dummy LPT port ( like LPT3 ) and then goto dos prompt and type:
NET USE LPT3...
you have to use this command:
NET USE LPT2: \\<SERVERNAME>\<SHARENAME>
so if your print server is PRINTBOSS and your shared printer is HP5 you have to type this command:
NET USE LPT2: \\PRINTBOSS\HP5
if you want to remove the capture, use this:
NET USE LPT2: /DELETE
Hi,
I had the same problem, I had some Data Terminals that I needed to get data from through serial port, What I did was, I made a Visual Basic Program to capture and save them to DBF. And I called it through FoxPro; you can do the same thing.

Hi,
I'm installing a Cisco 1720 Router with a WIC card (WIC-1DSU-T1) for frame-relay. My T1 service provider wants me to use channel 1 o 16 for some DLCIs and 20-24 for other DLCIs. I know that in 3600 or 2600 series I can define channel-groups and then I'm able to configure each sub serial...
