Hi Matthew,
We didnt really solve this problem. We had tapes cleaned by a specialised company; this didnt help. We changed nearly all the hardware, including the SCSI cables; didnt help either. Upgraded the firmware; same thing.
In the end we were loosing it... However in our company SAN was...
Hi,
Why not try to solve this with a CASE construction similar to this:
case `logname` in
devel|dev1)
instructions
;;
dev3|devel1|icdevel)
other instructions
;;
esac
Are the % characters to check if the variable...
Hi John,
It looks like your input is seperated by tabs. If so, you could do something like
awk ' FS="<TAB>" {print $3,$4,$5,$1,$2}' filename |sort -nr -k 1
Replace <TAB> by a TAB character...
Of course your output will change slightly :-)

Thanks for your posts,
The other day we upgraded the firmware on the tape units. This seems to have helped as we are not getting the "clean me" warnings anymore. asfscott, it might be a good idea for you to check the firmware as well. Contact your supplier for more info.

Hi lor,

You could also use directives to keep Networker from...
Hi lor,

You can then start the RMAN backup by...
Hi,
We have a similar problem with some savesets having a different expiry time because they have been made using RMAN. I am using a temporary workaround to change the expiry time of those savesets. Maybe you could do something similar to change your savesets. You will have to change this a...
