Excel for Simple Pipe Network; Finding Largest Draw-off (Tap / Faucet) Served via Each Flow Pipe

Skip, Sorry for delayed reply - Bank Holiday long Easter weekend in UK (although I've been busy on this as described below!). I didn't mean that I had managed to carry out this particular task without VBA, I just meant that over the years I'd managed to supersede other VBA routines in the...

Excel for Simple Pipe Network; Finding Largest Draw-off (Tap / Faucet) Served via Each Flow Pipe

Skip, Thank you for your help. I had hoped (over-optimistically) to achieve it without resorting to VBA, but I agree with you that it's just not possible (although I spent quite a few hours going round in circles trying to achieve it!). I used to have some of my own VBA including UDF's in this...

Excel for Simple Pipe Network; Finding Largest Draw-off (Tap / Faucet) Served via Each Flow Pipe

I am carrying out some analysis of pipe networks. Although I have over the years developed an increasingly sophisticated (some might say complex and cumbersome!) Excel spreadsheet for this, there is one particular aspect that I have been struggling with recently. Let me explain... The attached...

Xcel 2007Fill details from sheet 1 to sheet 2

If the Sheet 1 data is in tabular format, with one row per member and unique membership number on the left-most column, then you could use VLOOKUP: Say, for example, all Sheet 1 data is in range A1:F10, with column A holding unique membership number and column C holding house number and column...

Excel 2003; Display Selected Range's Name In Name Box

Ken, I've just realised that it only works if the range comprises just one area, i.e. if the cells are contiguous. If the cells are not contiguous, then the name of the range does not get displayed in the Name Box when the range is selected. I've also just tried this in Excel 2000, with...

Excel 2003; Display Selected Range's Name In Name Box

Although I can use the drop down list from the Name Box to select a named range, once that range is selected the Name Box does not display the name of the range, but only the address of one of the cells in the range. Is there any way I can get the Name Box to display the name of a selected...

Force Outlook 2000 To Prompt For Account When Sending Mail

Thanks, Boni. It's OK - I've found a way of doing it!! I just used Tools\Customise, selected Commands tab and under the File menu item found command Send Using, which I dragged to the top left of my tool bar. This new command is now to the left of my pre-existing, normal Send button. When I...

Force Outlook 2000 To Prompt For Account When Sending Mail

I use Outlook 2000 at home and I have several email accounts. Almost all of the time I send emails from my default account. However, on some occasions I need to send it from a different account. I know all I have to do is click the down-arrow beside the Send button and then select the...

Can I put a picture in Excel 2000 Header?

Thanks for the quick responses! Wrbnoh: Unless I'm missing something, the Header setup dialog box in Excel 2000 does not have a "picture icon"; I believe that did not come until Excel 2002? BlueHorizon: Your workaround of putting the picture in the repeated top rows instead of in the...

Register MSCAL.OCX for Excel without Access present

I have an Excel spreadsheet which makes use of mscal.ocx via VBA. I've copied it to a different machine which did not have mscal.ocx present. I therefore copied mscal.ocx (and mscal.gid, .cnt, dep, .hlp) from my old machine to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM on the new machine (running Windows 98). I then...

    Palm OS Database Program

I use SmartListToGo (used to be called ThinkDB), a relational database, and I sync to Access 97 tables, etc. I'm very pleased with it. Amongst other things, I use it as a timesheet log and a building condition survey tool. I downloaded / bought HandBase but I haven't had a chance to play with...

    Database PDA programming

SmartList To Go is the Dataviz name for ThinkDB, the Palm relational database that Dataviz took over from Thinking Bytes. I use it quite a lot. You can set up relational databases on the Palm and hot sync them with Microsoft Access, etc. It's worth a try, in my opinion. Regards, Brian
