Hi, my brother downloaded a film clip on facebook. After that his computer was working overtime uploading, when he was on the internet, about 1/2 as much as the computer would be downloading. His hardisk was constantly working.
He ran McAfee antivirus program, no viruses was reported. He went on...

You diagnosed the problem right. And I did use the Malwarebytes program. He (my brother) had 58 malwares on his computer. The Malwarebytes program fixed all of them and his internet problem was gone once he rebooted. He send his Thanks, as do I.
Linney, my brother and I thank you...
But also thanks to you, AndyGroom, for your suggestion, sorry I didn't mention it earlier. I innitially though you both were the same Andy (didn't read carefully the name, saw only that it was from, in both instances an Andy :-( ). Again sorry.
I have a brother that allowed a webserver program access to internet in order view a film-clip that was sent thru facebook. Now he can't access internet, except thru safe mode. He also can not access his cd/dvd drives, because his computer can't find the drive 'rutines'. I had him try to update...
Thanks Andy.
Yes I had fun with it.
I used your suggestion with the mousemove event in case of spelling error. But instead of a msgBox being shown, as "vinner" is typed, a new form is loaded. The "vinner" form is then unloaded with another mousemove event.
Thanks you very much!
A star goes to...
Thanks Kjv1611, Goombawahoo, and linney for your reply.
Goombawahoo and Kjv1611, thanks for the spelling correction. I honestly thought it was labtop. Guess I need to take English spelling 101.
Kjv1611, Yes that is what I thought too, that windows had somehow been corrupted. I spoke too my...
I need to activate an easter egg when the user writes "vinner", just by using the keyboard (i.e. no text box). Can anybody point me in the right direction.
Thanks ahead of time.
A coworker of mine has problems with his labtop. Its running windows xp pro. He couldn't get it to shut down normally, so he just hit the power-off button and held it down till the labtop shut down. Now it wont start in normal mode. He has had success starting it in safe mode, though. We tried...
Yes Goombawaho, the problem was fixed a while back. It appears that my computer work station had gotten its ip-address locked out at our local internet provider.
In the program I am now writing I need to determine if a year (say 2012, or 2015). Here I divide the year by 4 to see if i get a whole number. But how do you make VB6 tell the diffrence between whole numbers (503), and non-whole numers (503.75)?
Thanks ahead of time.
"Worst phrased question ever??? I'll nominate it."
Thanks, Goombawaho. I guess I typed the heading too fast to realize what it realy said. I was desparat (lol) back then.
And I agree with that it was the worst phrased question.
Smah, 'maskin' is a spelling error, should be the computer.
However, thanks for responding, Dian and Smah, but a guy that works on for us came in and he found out that the ip address that was used was blocked at the source. Internet is now up and running on this computer.
Internet is down on one of the maskins here at work, has been for many week now. But its sending data and recieving data. Though there is no access (can't go online). Might someone have any suggestion on what to do so that I can get the maskin online?
Thanks.
Andrzejek. With "lock the choices", I mean: that if the user chose 'C drive' from the drvListbox, the folder 'IKDV' from the dirListbox, exited the form (not the program), and then accessed the form again, the choice in the drvListBox should be set at 'C drve' (rather then, forexample), 'Y...
