I have installed Terminal Services on a HP 320 G5 server and I'm having an issue with the application closing from a workstation. Actually, the app closes but I get a blank screen for 60 seconds until the session shuts down. You can go enter alt, cntrl, delete, select log off and it will close...
I have installed Terminal Services and I'm having an issue with applications closing from a workstation. Actually, they close but I get a blank screen for 60 seconds until the session shuts down. Is there a setting to change this so it will close right away without the 60 second wait?
I am new to VB and I'm trying to rename a file and the file will always have yesterdays date such as DailyFile#R0906. Here is what I am using but I'm unsure how to find the correct file to rename.
FileName = "F:\DAILYFILE#R & Format(Date -1, "mmdd")
NewFileName = "F:\R347" & Format(Date -1...
OK I see where this could be changed but our previous Network Administrator set group policies disabling changing screensaver settings. I went to the domain control and disabled these policies but screensavers are still "greyed" out. I even did a synch on the domain. What am I still missing...
We have a new servers that go to the "lock" window and you have to ctrl, alt, delete and log back in. Our previous network administrator set some 2003 servers to never "lock". Where is this setting? I have looked in screensaver and power settings, don't find anything there. Any suggestions...
Thanks for the reply!
I looked at the turtle cases and I'm not sure that is exactly what I want but it did lead me to this site. I like this hard case on wheels and will look into the cost of it. I will be transporting DLT and LTO tapes so this might be exactly what I need...
Might be a silly question but what is suggested to transport tapes to a storage location? I will be moving about 30 tapes every two weeks by courier so I want something that locks and isn't heavy. Need some suggestions....thanks in advance
Just to let everyone know I resolved the problem. Someone in our department had changed the name of one of the folders that was being backed up which resulted in the error. Hate when that happens!
I am getting an error "a00084ed - a hardware error occured". I could not find anything on Veritas's website regarding this error. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance,

I know when I upgraded last time, Symantec suggested uninstalling the current version then installing the new version. Did you do this with 9.0 or just install over 8.1?
Thanks again
Planning on upgrading Norton AV Corporate Edition in the near future. Anyone had any issues?
According to Symantec, they state in their support to set up a small scale installation and then add a select group to that installation to see if you have any issues which means find a new server...
We use both. The SMTP Gateway allows another tier of protection from viruses by protecting your email server from ever getting emails that are infected. Just my opinion but I'd rather be safe than sorry later.

In regards to problem #2, when I was using 7.6, I had to also go to each infected client pc and delete the files there or Norton would still find it on the pc when doing a scan and say there was still a virus.
I upgraded to NAV Corp 8.1 and set up Central Quarantine which allows all viruses...
Not sure if you are using Quarantine Central but if not, the viruses are in the quarantine on the local pc. You need to delete them from the quarantine and backup on the local pc and from SSC. Then you should stop getting alerts that there are viruses.
Tried reconfiguring the OFO and the backup still failed athough if you look at the log file, it did backup all the servers, just fails because of the OFO. Found a technote how to manually determine the volume size for OFO and will try that next. Looked at the hotfix 12 and I'd rather not try it...
