if its listed in Device Manager with " dvd/cd is listed with a yellow !!" mark....that is indication #1 that there is a problem. It is a moot point now, everyone has pretty much provided all the tricks to try. Granted...you can always try another IDE cable...these will fail as well sometimes...
i am trying to share a secuirty device between 2 computers so that I ALWAYS have it in place. My thinking is that the cable design would mimic only one cable but allow for both...perhaps I was hoping for too much, lol.

Ok...so here is my question....CAN I use a USB Y-splitter \ adapter to ONE USB device to make that device visible to 2 computers at once? Possibly a single USB hard drive? I dont know if it would require a special cable that HID the fact that both PCs were looking at the same device at the same...
It is a dated card, it should allow you to play a moderatly decent game of Medal of Honor but that is about it for fairly recent 3d games. Americas Army and BF 1942 are both hogs and even with a Geforce 2 MX400, 64md SDRAM card they only ran OK with all grafix turned down
