Have you looked for the them in All Programs/Games ? If there are no games, go to Add/Remove Programs and install games. (Windows Components-> Accessories and Utilities)

marcs41's advices were good, but you had to boot your computer from CD-ROM (make it the first boot device in BIOS), so that setup wouldn't have to copy all the necessary files to a hard drive (then you could delete it). At least, that's what I thought was your problem before I saw your last...
Do the upgrade, but prepare yourself for problems. It will probably bring some trouble, but that's what makes it interesting... [thumbsup2] Really, nothing serious. (Keep the old files for backup when you're asked to, just in case [wink])
Yes, OzCDN is right, you should enable Quick Launch Bar if it's desabled. But if you already enabled it and still don't see Show Desktop Icon (maybe someone deleted it), you will have to do some writing (or Copy-Pasting :) .
