I had this same problem on with our email system. I had help come in to upgrade our Ex 5.5 to Ex 2000, then I added two new Ex 2000 servers, and an Ex 2003 server as an OWA front end server. We were getting the "free/busy" thing all the time. I had to call Microsoft to look at...
I have 2 Exchange 2000 servers in my domain, and I decided to add a third server to act as a front end server for OWA. I started by setting up a Exchange 2000 server (on W2K server), then I decided to upgrade the whole thing to W2K3. I upgraded Exchange first - no problem. Then I upgraded W2K...
Hi all! Here's my situation. I am setting up equipment that will be shipped to, and installed at, a remote location. The two locations will be connected via dedicated T1. The equipment is in my site, and the routers are configured using a cable that emulates a T1 line between them. The...
Hi Yozhic!
What I did was take a rollover cable (like you use to console into a Cisco router) with RJ45 ends, and attach RJ45 to DB9 adapters to both ends. I don't know why it worked when all else had failed.....but it did! I hope this helps.

We are using Norton Antivirus for Exchange as well. It works great! There is a person who was on this site looking for a GUI to use with the Norton filtering on Exchange. He couldn't find one, so he wrote one himself! He gives it away free bundled with some other usefull tools at this...
You guys are really bringing up some valid points about my situation, and I thank you all for your help. I haven't had much time to work on it (involved in an Exchange server migration), but I am having the other person who is working on it with me change the addresses to 192.168.x.x and the...

I currently have 1 network with 10.0.0.0 addresses. We are trying to set up a totally separate network using 192.0.0.0 addresses. I have put a router in between the two networks with 1 ethernet interface(0)connected to the 10. network, and the other ethernet interface (1) connected to the 192...
IHUDDLES....you were right on the mark! I went into the text version, and sure enough, there was the machine in question listed with the others. I removed the reference to it, and I'm sure it will work just fine now! Thanks so much for your help!
I am running BE 8.0 in an all NT4.0 environment. Our tape drive died, and I installed a new 40gb DLT drive. Before, with my old drive I had to split my network into 2 backups, each running every other day. Now I can back up all at once. So, I set up a new all encompassing backup job. After...
I was using a null modem cable. It should have worked fine, it does on all of our other switches (HP and Cisco). Of course, since I was able to get into the configuration and assign an IP address, I can just Telnet in now.
I've tried Control Y (and a few others)and received no response. I'm stumped on this. I can usually get SOME response (good or bad)...
Thanks for the suggestion though.
I can't seem to get into either of our 350T switches using the console port. I inherited these devices, so I'm not very familiar with them. They were never assigned IP addresses, so I'm trying to use a direct connection through the console port, and do a <Ctrl>+C (per Nortel's instructions) to...
