Yes, test changing the drive configuration to achieve maximum throughput unless you are satisfied with less than optimim speed. I tested multiple settings to achieve maximum throughput on my setup. From the Admin guide (I placed '*' around performance information):
"Block size (per device)...
I wouldn't think so considering I get 10 times the throughput using 100 meg NICs. Check your tape drive properties/configuration - is compression enabled? I get the highest throughput with the settings at the maximum values - block size = 64K, buffer size=1024K, buffer count=32, high water...
I can't normally access the folder at all after it gets locked by BE, I get an 'access denied' that looks like security but domian admins or local administrator IDs can't get to it either. I wondered about permissions at first but it doesn't seem to be it.

Is the individual user's mailbox still selected in the Veritas backup job? Selecting items that exist to build jobs and then changing them can cause errors.
In the past I have used utilities on 9 track tape that stream data and record tape errors to prevent bad tapes from causing job crashes - does anyone know if there is a similar one out there for DLT? I'm using Type3, Type4 and SDLT on Windows servers.

Zebed00 and others:
Did anyone solve this problem themselves or get a definitive solution from Veritas? I'm getting this error only when backing up from one VLAN to another.
Veritas advises that I disable any NIC teams, set the NICs and switch to 100/Full from auto and go to build 4454. We...
I'm looking for information about HP Omniback vs Veritas Exec to build a comparison list. We run about 60 servers NT 4 and 2000 and backup 90 gig + in our weeklies plus incrementals daily.
What I've got so far:
