You need to add that IP as a multiple identity to your server. Using Inet Manager, at your web site right-click, pull up properties, Web Site, Advanced, and add IP 127.0.0.1, port 80, name localhost. This should allow references to 127.0.0.1 (loopback) and localhost to find your server.
I haven't gotten too many responses on this one. I'm surprised no one has run into this sit. before.
For some reason, with this Win 98 client, all requests are going out to the Internet, and none to the local server, unless PROXY is specified, in which case, all requests go to the server, and...
You'll find this addressed multiple times in this forum elsewhere, but try adding 'localhost' with IP address 127.0.0.1, under Web Identities, using the IIS Manager. Also add an entry to the HOSTS file (SYS32\DRIVERS\ETC). It should read '127.0.0.1 localhost'.
To tbalaz: boot sector is boot sector. The BIOS reads this to start up and run whichever OS is to be used. Even on a dual-boot machine, the boot sector info is simply swapped back and forth (there's a copy of each set in the root). If FDISK doesn't fix it I usually try one of my utilities to...
You possibly have a flaky boot sector, yes. Sounds simplistic but sometimes rewriting it can fix this problem up. You need to boot from a floppy (DOS 7 would be the one), make sure you have FDISK on there, and run it with the /MBR option, to force it to rewrite the boot sector. I have seen this...
This option will never be enabled if the fonts folder does not have the correct attributes. It must be read-only. Under Win 9x it also had to have the SYSTEM attribute set.
Have same 'kind' of problem, altho different form: since I flashed my Award Bios (Abit BX6-r2 board) and trashed my BIOS chip, for which I had to obtain a 3rd-party replacement, I can no longer do hibernate. It saves the file ok, but upon restart, hangs and forces me to skip it and boot from...
I have Win 2000 PRO, IIS 5 installed. Running ethernet network, TCP/IP. No problems except that have Win 98 client that will not see the IIS server; using Internet connection sharing on Win 2000 machine, no problems. I can access this server from any other Win 2000 client; can access from Win 98...
This is a catch-22 situation, you can't start Windows from your disk because it needs the drivers to access it under UDMA 66, you can't install the drivers because Windows won't run from the disk. You must provide them at install time, on floppy. Put all the driver files for the HPT on the...
